How is it different?
Something for everyone and specifically what they choose
Just as our industry is diverse in terms of the businesses that operate within it, so are the requirements of people within those businesses.
H&C EXPO comprises many different events taking place over three days at the Celtic Manor Resort 16 -18 July 2018.
Some visitors will visit one event on one day, others will choose to visit many elements on multiple days.
Whatever visitors choose to do, H&C EXPO will facilitate that. Not make taking part in one event dependant on ‘walking through’ another.
So, if you want to attend and take part in a roundtable for example, you will not have to walk through the exhibition hall to arrive at and take part in a roundtable.
By creating specific event areas, quite separate within H&C EXPO but all within the same venue, we enable people to make their own choices.
NO SMOKE AND NO MIRRORS AT H&C EXPO
Most exhibitions site all elements of their event in one area or hall. Making visitors walk through event areas they have little or no interest in, to visit and take part in another. An inconvenience for the visitor and at the same time exhibitors are looking through smoke and mirrors at footfall. Not so at H&C EXPO.

Exhibition: The exhibition hall will host supplier businesses looking to introduce their businesses to hospitality and catering providers including: restauranteurs, hoteliers, caterers, publicans etc. The exhibition hall is solely for visitors looking to source new suppliers. The exhibition hall is quite separate to the other events at H&C EXPO.
The exhibition hall is there for visitors who work in procurement.
Visitors will range from procurement professionals working in companies with dedicated procurement departments, to sole traders and small to medium size businesses where people have multiple roles.
The exhibitor can be confident that the visitors to the exhibition hall are only there for one reason, as there is no other reason to enter the hall apart from meeting, investigating and sourcing new suppliers.
This approach is tried and tested: The daily ‘editorial’ newsletters produced by H&C News, the organisers of H&C EXPO, are editorial only, peer to peer news from restauranteurs, hoteliers, caterers, publicans etc.
Every Wednesday we produce our weekly advertising only ‘Supplier’ newsletter, from suppliers to our readership. Two clearly different types of newsletter and content.
The readership of our ‘editorial’ newsletters and our ‘Supplier’ newsletters demonstrates that people across our industry want product and service information every bit as much as they want news. The feedback and metrics tell us as much. The choice is with the reader.

So, by giving people clearly labelled options and choice we deliver what they want, how they want it.
H&C EXPO will follow this process, enabling choice.
Conference: The conference programme will take place on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July 2018 in The Caernarfon Suite, each conference session accommodating 1,200 delegates.
Speakers will address the issues our industry faces, people are central to everything we do as an industry and as such people issues will be central to our conference theme. Addressing skills shortages being top of our conference agenda.
Visitors attending one or more conference sessions can choose to do so in isolation, or in conjunction with other elements of the H&C EXPO event.
Round Tables: Round tables will take place on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July 2018 in The Caernarfon Suite addressing a range of subjects giving all attendees the opportunity to contribute to discussions.
The agendas are set in part by surveys, asking what issues are to be addressed and how best to address them.
Visitors attending one or more roundtables can choose to do so in isolation, or in conjunction with other elements of the H&C EXPO event.
Hosted Buyers Lounge: Taking place on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July 2018 in the conference level two area with buyers from across our industry, working with…restaurants, hotels, caterers, pubs, bars, cafes, universities, hospitals and all hospitality and catering providers/outlets – attending the meetings they request with the suppliers they are interested in doing business with.
Visitors taking part in the hosted buyer programme can choose to do so in isolation, or in conjunction with other elements of the H&C EXPO event.
People Development Awards: An awards evening hosted in The Caernarfon Suite on Tuesday 17th July 2018. The awards will recognise the businesses and people at the heart of providing opportunities to enter and develop a career in hospitality and catering. Ten award categories will be presented over a three-course dinner prepared and served by the award-winning events team at the Celtic Manor. Entertainment will follow the awards with carriages at midnight.
Visitors taking part in People Development Awards can choose to do so in isolation, or in conjunction with other elements of the H&C EXPO event. Visitors that wish to stay at the Celtic Manor or other local hotels can take advantage of preferential rates through the organisers of H&C EXPO.
Charity Golf Day: Any event taking place at Wales’ home of sport, the Celtic Manor, would be remiss not to take advantage of the world class golf course that hosted The Ryder Cup in 2010.
On Monday 16th July 2018 twenty-five four-ball teams will tee off from 2pm on the Roman Road Course. All teams taking part will receive a framed certificate and enjoy dinner and entertainment in the evening.
The Charity Golf Day will raise funds for two charities that provide opportunities for and develop careers in hospitality and catering for: young people with special needs and offenders. The Clink Charity and The Foxes Academy.
Visitors taking part in the Charity Golf Day can choose to do so in isolation, or in conjunction with other elements of the H&C EXPO event. Visitors that wish to stay at the Celtic Manor or other local hotels can take advantage of preferential rates through the organisers of H&C EXPO.
Dragons Artisan Food & Drink Den: Taking place on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July 2018 in the conference level two area, buyers from across our industry will be pitched by food and drink suppliers.
The buyers will have real budget to spend and the decisions to spend will be taken live after each pitch. There will be one hundred seats available to visitors to attend each session.
Come and see who has the best food and drink products, who has the best sales and presentation skills, and what the buyers are buying and why.
Visitors taking part in the Dragons Artisan Food & Drink Den can choose to do so in isolation, or in conjunction with other elements of the H&C EXPO event.
